Emperor moves in
TOKYO: Japanese Emperor Naruhito and his family, Empress Masako and Princess Aiko, have completed the move to their new residence at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, more than two years after ascending to the throne, broadcaster NHK reported yesterday.
The royal family began the move on September 6, but transport of their personal belongings and space planning was completed on Monday.
Naruhito was enthroned on May 1, 2019, after his father, Akihito, abdicated due to age and deteriorating health – the first to step down in 200 years.
