THE chief executive of Hamilton Holdings, Hamilton Ndlovu, has brushed off claims that his lawyers withdrew their services because of the R500 000 in legal fees he allegedly owes them.

This comes after a source with intimate knowledge told the Daily News on Sunday that Ndlovu was being isolated from affluent affiliates and his legal fee problems were mounting.

Ndlovu allegedly benefited by R172 million from lucrative personal protective equipment contracts he received from the National Health Laboratory Services.

Ndlovu made headlines and instantly shot to fame in May last year after he posted a video showing his new fleet of luxury vehicles.

These included three Porches,

aJeep, and a Lamborghini. This triggered an investigation by the SA Revenue Service, the Special Investigating Unit, and National Health Laboratory Services.

They sought a provisional preservation order from the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria.

Ndlovu said: “As far as the issue of lawyers is concerned, I have contacted them this morning (Monday) and we have come to an agreement. They will be in court and will stay on as my legal counsel, led by advocate Sipho Bavuma,”

He wished to disclose more information about the case but could not because he feared it would be used against him.

Bavuma confirmed that he had had discussions with Ndlovu and the issue of payment was settled on Monday. Asked if the legal fees were settled,

Bavuma said that he could not disclose anything about the payments of fees.

“We will stay on the case and continue representing him as his counsel.

We are meeting again this afternoon to have further discussions about the case,” Bavuma said.

The source said: “Ndlovu’s assets are all frozen. These include his houses and cars. They are attached.

“Unfortunately, he is unable to pay off certain debts.”
