BBC’S 1995 DIANA INTERVIEW
| AFP
LONDON Metropolitan Police said this week it would not investigate former BBC reporter Martin Bashir’s deception to secure the now-famous 1995 interview with the late Princess Diana. The decision comes after a report by Lord Dyson in May concluded that Bashir had deceived Diana’s brother Earl Charles Spencer into helping to arrange the interview, in which she admitted to adultery and spoke candidly about her troubled marriage to Prince Charles. The police said it “has not identified evidence that constituted a criminal offence”.
